FINE ARTS AND DECORATIVE ARTS
Pierre MEERT (1619-1669), The Masters of the Foundlings, oil on canvas, 1645, Inv. T.003.
From the foundation of the first aid institutions in the twelfth century, patrons wished to give them not only income and resources but also arts and crafts, in particular to decorate a Chapel.
During the 19th and 20th centuries, the generosity of individuals greatly contributed to the enrichment of the collections through donations and bequests from furniture, paintings, silverware or even of ceramics.
