GOLDFINING AND SILVERWARE

As for silver and brassware, our collections consist almost exclusively of tableware and liturgical objects: chalices, cruets, chrismatories, chandeliers, candlesticks, chimes, incense burners, sprinklers, crucifixes, monstrances, reliquaries, and so on.

One of the most remarkable pieces of silverware is a chased silver incense shuttle signed by the Antwerp craftsman Rijnier Van Jaersvelt and bearing the date 1531. The copperware category includes an astonishing monumental Japanese-style incense burner from the late 19th century.
